PORTVILLE – A Town of Portville man is facing charges following a Woodchuck hunting mishap.
New York State Police say Lester L. Baker Jr., 51, is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and reckless endangerment of property after he allegedly fired a crossbow into his neighbor’s house.
Troopers said Baker Jr. was hunting on July 25 at a residence on State Route 417 when he fired a bolt from a crossbow at a Woodchuck in his yard.
Police said the bolt missed its target and struck a neighboring house.
Baker was issued appearance tickets for Portville Town Court.
Maybe it was the woodchuck’s fault?
