Buffalo Holds Denver To A Field Goal, Posting A 20-3 Victory

ORCHARD PARK – With the aiding of 244 rush yards, the Buffalo Bills won their last two games, defeating the Denver Broncos at home on Sunday 20-3, improving their record to 8-3 on the season. 

This game was just the fourth game in NFL History in which both starting quarterbacks had the same last name (Allen) with no relation.

Josh Allen finished the game with 185 yards passing with two touchdowns and one interception, the first time since Week five in which Allen threw one.


Allen also rushed for 56 yards for the second consecutive game.

Devin Singletary had his first-career 100-yard rushing performance, running for 106 on 21 carries.

With a 65 yard rushing performance, Frank Gore surpassed former Detroit Lions running back and NFL Hall of Fame member Barry Sanders for the third most rushing yards in NFL History, upping his career total to 15,289 rush yards.



John Brown caught one of Allen’s touchdown passes, though his franchise record 10-game streak with at least four receptions and 50 yards receiving came to an end, finishing Sunday’s game with two catches for 39 yards.

Cole Beasley caught Allen’s other touchdown pass, part of a six catch 76 yard performance, both game-highs.

On the defensive side, Buffalo held Denver to 134 total yards of offense, and sacked Broncos QB Brandon Allen four times, giving the Bills defense 11 sacks in their last two games.

Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano finished with a team-high six total tackles each.



Shaq Lawson had a pair of sacks.

Tre’Davious White intercepted his fourth pass of the season.

On Denver’s end, Allen was held to 82 yards and an interception on 10-25 passing.

Phillip Lindsay rushed for 57 yards.

Courtland Sutton had a team-high 27 receiving yards on one reception.

Alexander Johnson led the Broncos defense with a game-high 15 total tackles.

Justin Simmons intercepted a pass off of Josh Allen.

Denver fell to 3-8 on the season with the loss, and will take on their division rival Los Angeles Chargers for their next game on Dec. 1 at 1:00 on CBS.

Buffalo will play their next game on Thanksgiving on Nov. 28, as they will hit the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys at 4:30 on CBS.

It will be the Bills first Thanksgiving Day game since 1994, in which they lost to the Detroit Lions 35-21.
