Two Rescued From Conewango Creek

CARROLL – Two kayakers are safe after they were rescued from the Conewango Creek in the Town of Carroll on Saturday.

The Frewsburg Fire Department and the Chautauqua County Water Emergency Team were dispatched to kayakers in the waters of Conewango Creek off of Riverside Road around 1:40 p.m.

Two kayakers, a 21-year-old man and 18-year-old woman, fell out of their craft and were pinned by the waters’ current against a fallen tree.











With the aid of a rescue boat, first responders were able to rescue the duo.

Both were evaluated at the scene and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
