JAMESTOWN – Details of this winter’s holiday parade in Jamestown were announced on Friday.

The City of Jamestown and Collaborative Children’s Solutions have been working together to formulate a parade plan after festivities were modified last year due to the pandemic.

This year’s theme is “Jamestown NY, A Diverse Community, Celebrating Holiday Traditions From Around The World.” The festivities start Friday, December 3 and continue Saturday, December 4 with the parade featured on Saturday night at 6 p.m.

The parade itself will begin on the Third Street Bridge and continue down Third Street to City Hall. Parade line up will begin at 5 p.m. on West Third Street between Hallock Street and Porter Avenue.

The annual Christmas Tree lighting will take place around 8 p.m. Saturday.

Applications to participate in the parade are now being accepted. Additionally, downtown businesses have the opportunity to showcase their establishments and welcome guests.

Anyone interested in participating in the parade needs to register online at jtny.events.

Furthermore, several events to collect toys and raise awareness for the county Toys for Tots campaign will take place.
