MAYVILLE – Three local non-profits are receiving funding to help break the cycle of homelessness in Chautauqua County.

Chautauqua Opportunities, Southern Tier Environments for Living and the YWCA of Jamestown will receive a portion of a $40 million state grant.

The funding aims to build out over 17,500 adult bends, 2,500 family units and over 350 young adult beds in various housing developments across the state.

Overall, the program’s main goal is to provide stable housing in an effort to end housing insecurity in New York.
