FREWSBURG – A new local ice cream shop opened for business over the weekend at an iconic location in Frewsburg.
Owners Kacey and Brandon Shelters, along with their three children, have been working on their vision since purchasing the building, transforming the former location known to many as the Igloo into their own place, The Corner Scoop.
Opening day for the ice cream shop was Saturday the 14th, an event that brought dozens out to engage in the joyous day and even feel a little bit of nostalgia for the former Igloo.
Some of these people include Seanna and Markus Greenawalt, who say that they enjoyed their first experience at the restaurant, and even think The Corner Scoop could be as memorable as the creamery that was there before.
“It’s definitely bringing a lot of good memories,” explained Seanna Greenawalt. “I remember coming with my grandfather when I was younger, after soccer games. Kinda sad to see the Igloo go at the time, but then when they brought it back I was like Ooohhhh, I was excited.”
The Greenawalts believe that the ice cream shop could cause the next generation, which also includes their son, to have the same memorable experiences that they did at the Igloo.
