DMV Reminds New Yorkers of Voting Registration Deadline

ALBANY, NY (WENY) – The New York State DMV is reminding New Yorkers that the deadline to register to vote in this November’s election is October 14th.

New Yorkers can apply in person at the DMV when they complete a driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID application.

The DMV says that those who already have any of those items can visit the DMV website to register or update the information they have on file with their local board of elections.





Applications must be submitted no later than October 14th The cut-off to apply to register at an office is the close of business, and the deadline to submit an application online is 11:59 p.m.

To apply by mail, applications must be postmarked no later than October 14 and received by a board of elections no later than October 19 to be eligible to vote in the general election.

New Yorkers can also register in person at their local Board of Elections.





















Those who were honorably discharged from the US Military or have become a naturalized US citizen after October 14 may register in person at the board of elections up until October 29.
