JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Halloween themed Trick or Treat Trail will be held on the Jamestown Riverwalk this weekend.

The spooky themed event, located between the two pedestrian bridges on the Riverwalk just behind the National Comedy Center, will showcase many attractions, hayrides, hot chocolate, and of course candy.

“Walk around and see the different people that we have here, the different decorations, have a hayride, get some hot chocolate, and a nice night out,“ explained Parks Manager Dan Stone.

The last minute change from the original Allen Park Ice Arena inspired the Parks Manager to showcase one of the city’s many hidden gems.

“I just encourage everyone to come on down and see our Riverwalk, see what we’ve got,“ said Stone, “It’s a lighted path, it’s a great place to get out and be outdoors. The river that we’ve been working on for the last few years restoring some of the bank, getting that set up so we can continue with our river. A nice healthy river going through and it’s utilized for all kinds of things.”

Stone also asks for all children to be supervised, especially when around the riverfront.

“We ask one, you keep an eye on your kids right, we are along the river, and we’ll have barricades and things set up,“ explained Stone. “But please keep an eye on your kids. We’ll have all kinds of candy, of course go through and inspect your candy for any allergies and things like that.”

In the end, Stone is excited to see the Riverwalk being used.

“So I encourage everybody to come on down and join us for our first ever Riverwalk Trick or Treat Trail, Saturday night from five to seven,“ stated Stone.
