JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – Jamestown High School graduate Stephen Carlson has been added to the Chicago Bears active roster ahead of their season opener game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

The move was announced on Saturday by the Chicago Bears among other roster updates.

Carlson originally signed with the Bears this past May after spending the previous few NFL seasons with the Cleveland Browns.

He was cut after the preseason by the Bears, but then was resigned to the teams practice squad.

He will be 1 of 4 tightends on the Bears active roster for Sunday, providing depth throughout the game.

Carlson entered the NFL in 2019 with Cleveland as a undrafted free agent from Princeton University.
