JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) – A weakening tropical storm will ride up the East coast over the weekend. This system will bring increasing clouds to the region on Saturday and the potential for some showers later Saturday and into Sunday.
On Saturday, the weakening tropical system will slowly move North up the East coast. As it does, cloud cover will increase from South to North through the day. A few showers might reach the Eastern portions of the Southern Tier by Saturday night.
High temperatures on Saturday will reach the upper 60’s.
On Sunday, mostly cloudy skies will continue. The best chances for rain showers will be across the Southern tier on Sunday. Although, models are still not picking up on how far North/West the shield of rain can make it. A high pressure ridge to our North will works in trying to prevent the further Northward reach of the system.
Highs on Sunday will generally be found in the 60’s.
As this system pulls away on Monday, any showers will end but cloud cover will remain.
The rest of next week looks rather quiet with a strong ridge of high pressure providing dry weather across the area.
In terms of temperatures, highs will generally be found in the upper 60’s to near 70.
