(WNY News Now) – A 43-year-old Jamestown resident was arrested Wednesday night following a reported gunshot complaint on the city’s South East Side, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Jamestown police say officers responding to multiple calls of gunfire on June 10 located a man allegedly in possession of a 20-gauge shotgun and later charged him with multiple felonies and misdemeanors related to the incident.

According to police, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon responded around 8 p.m. on June 10, 2026 to reports of gunshots near a residential street on the South East Side of the city.

Investigators said officers located David J. Figueroa, 43, of Jamestown, who was allegedly in possession of a 20-gauge shotgun. Police reported that Figueroa fired two 20-gauge slug rounds in the direction of a victim and the victim’s child.

Authorities said an uninvolved vehicle was struck and damaged by the gunfire. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Figueroa was charged with:

  • Two counts of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree
  • Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree

Police said Figueroa was taken into custody and is being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
