Dry Weather To End Week, More Rain This Weekend

JAMESTOWN, NEW YORK (WNY NEWS NOW) –  Lake effect rain showers will continue across portions of the area through early Thursday.  These showers will end by later Thursday afternoon, with quieter weather for Friday.

Rain showers Wednesday afternoon will be found across the Western Southern Tier and Southern Erie County. These bands of showers will weaken overnight tonight, and end by mid-day Thursday. Outside of any showers, mostly cloudy skies will be found with limited sunshine.

A weak ridge of high pressure will keep the area dry later on Thursday through the day on Friday with partial sunshine across the region on Friday.

High temperatures will be a bit warmer on Thursday/Friday in the mid to upper 50’s.

Another system will move across the region into the weekend with more widespread rain to follow. Rain may be moderate to heavy at times on Saturday.

As the system departs to the Northeast on Sunday, cool air will once again produce lake effect rain showers on Sunday and into early next week.

Highs will remain below average in the upper 40’s to lower 50’s over the weekend and into early next week.
