(WNY News Now) – On Monday, November 20, 2023, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) visited the Falconer Fire Department, accompanied by Chautauqua County Executive PJ Wendel, to declare a substantial Assistance to Firefighters Grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) totaling $107,021.

Falconer – Congressman Nick Langworthy, representing New York’s 23rd congressional district, took a momentous step on Monday by unveiling a crucial financial aid package for the Falconer Fire Department. The $107,021 grant, provided by FEMA, is earmarked to fortify the department’s capabilities and ensure the safety of its dedicated first responders.

During his visit to the Falconer Fire Department, Congressman Langworthy expressed his commitment to supporting the essential work of first responders. The grant, according to FEMA guidelines, is specifically designated for the procurement of 24 new sets of turnout gear. This vital equipment plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives of firefighters, enhancing their operational effectiveness during emergencies.

“It’s an honor to thank these first responders in person and to announce this critical federal funding that will support the Falconer Fire Department in their important work,” said Congressman Langworthy. “Our firefighters and emergency personnel put their lives on the line every day to keep our communities safe, and they deserve the resources necessary to effectively carry out their duties.”
