(WNY News Now) – A 48-year-old Jamestown resident is held pending arraignment after officers from the Jamestown Police Department discovered he provided a false identity during a routine traffic stop on Camp St. near Manchester Rd.

In the early hours of 1/12/24, officers observed Patrick J. Dhondt without a seatbelt during a traffic stop. Upon attempting to identify him, Dhondt assumed another person’s identity, leading to suspicions. After proper identification, it was revealed that Dhondt had an outstanding warrant for providing false information to the police. He was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he awaits arraignment. Dhondt now faces charges of Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree in Jamestown City Court. The incident underscores the importance of accurate identification during routine law enforcement procedures.
