(WNY News Now) – LITTLE VALLEY – Cattaraugus County Election Commissioners Kevin Burleson and Cortney Spittler announced Early Voting for the 2024 Democratic and Republican Presidential Primary Elections to be held March 23-30.
There will be two early voting sites serving Cattaraugus County. Both sites can serve eligible voters from any of these election districts – and are accessible to voters with physical disabilities:
– Cattaraugus County Board of Elections office, 207 Rock City Street, Little Valley, NY
– Jamestown Community College Olean Campus, College Center Community Room, 260 North Barry Street, Olean. The location has been changed from the Magnano Room of the Cutco Theatre, due to a conflict.
Hours for both sites are as follows:
Saturday March 23 9am – 6pm
Sunday March 24 9am – 6pm
Monday March 25 7am – 4pm
Tuesday March 26 11am – 8pm
Wednesday March 27 11am – 8pm
Thursday March 28 7am – 4pm
Friday March 29 7am – 4pm
Saturday March 30 9am – 6pm
There will be no second Sunday of Early Voting for the Presidential Primary, due to the Easter holiday. Instead, hours during the remaining eight days have been extended. Sample ballots for each election district are available at http://www.cattco.org and will be available at the Early Voting sites.
To be eligible to vote at Early Voting or Election Day, a new voter must be registered in either the Republican or Democratic parties by March 23, 2024. (Those who were previously registered and wished to have changed their party enrollment must have done so by Feb. 14.)
Eligible voters may vote early, however, those who register on March 23rd, the first day of Early Voting, will have to vote by affidavit ballot. Persons who vote during the early voting period are NOT eligible to vote on Election Day (April 2) or on a subsequent day of early voting.
New York State voters are no longer permitted to cast a ballot on a voting machine if they have already been issued an absentee ballot for that election to prevent double voting. Voters who have already been issued an absentee ballot can still vote in-person using an affidavit ballot.
