(WNY News Now) – On February 23, 2024, a 72-year-old WNY man unconditionally pleaded guilty to disturbing charges, including promoting and possessing sexual performances by a child, before the Honorable Melissa Lightcap Cianfrini.

William E. Wallace admitted guilt to 9 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a Class “D” Felony, and 3 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a Class “E” Felony. The charges stemmed from incidents on September 10, 2023, where Wallace knowingly possessed explicit content involving a child under sixteen, and on multiple dates in 2022 and 2023, where he promoted similar performances by children under seventeen.

No sentencing commitment was made during the hearing, but Wallace faces a maximum sentence of 7 years in NYS Prison for each of the 9 promoting counts and 4 years for each of the 3 possessing counts. Sentencing is scheduled for May 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m.
