(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a 30-year-old Buffalo man was sentenced this afternoon before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to 7 ½ to 15 years in prison. He was sentenced today as a second felony offender.
On July 31, 2022 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Marcus D. Edwards, while under the influence of alcohol, was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee at a high-rate of speed westbound on Broadway when he drove through the intersection of Bailey Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The defendant caused a collision with a Jeep Liberty that had the right-of-way while turning onto Broadway. The driver of the Jeep Liberty, 68-year-old Nathaniel Robinson, Sr., and his passenger, 35-year-old Sherry J. Lewis, were killed in the crash.
Edwards pleaded guilty to eight counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide (Class “B” felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to all counts in the indictment against him on December 15, 2023. As a condition of his sentence, the defendant’s driver’s license was revoked indefinitely.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Christine O. Murray of the Vehicular Crimes Bureau.
