(WNY News Now) – Olean, NY – The National Weather Service in Buffalo, New York, has extended the Flood Warning for the Allegheny River in Olean, affecting Cattaraugus County, until Monday afternoon.
The warning forecasts minor flooding in the area, including Olean and Salamanca. Impacts may include flooding on Union Street in Allegany and East Riverside Drive, as well as some farm lands along the river. At 6:15 AM EDT Saturday, the river’s stage was 11.69 feet, with a forecasted crest of 13.4 feet by tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 12.0 feet, with caution advised for those near riverbanks and flooded roads. Residents are urged to report observed flooding to local emergency services and to stay informed through www.weather.gov.
