In an effort to help our furry friends find their fur-ever home, WNY News Now has partnered with the Chautauqua County Humane Society in a segment we like to call “Pet of The Week”. This week’s pet of the week is Lionfish.

“Hey, Lee, it’s Brian from the Chautauqua County Humane Society, and we have Lionfish as our Western New York News Now, Pet of the Week. Lionfish has a special story. He came to the Chautauqua County Humane Society about a month or so ago with 20 other cats that were all found in a trailer in Lakewood. And it’s being found that with a lot of these cats, we are placing them in our Working Cat Heroes program.”
“Working Cat Heroes is essentially like a barn cat program. If you have a business with a warehouse, if you’re looking looking for, you know, rodent control, stuff they can do to work because that’s what these guys are.”
“See the toe beans there? It’s pretty cute. He is pretty social and he’s an active little kitty, but he has been neutered and he’s up to date on vaccinations and all that good stuff. He has a microchip. So if you want to meet Lionfish, please come on down to the Chautauqua County Humane Society 2825 Strunk Road in Jamestown, or you can put an application at CHQhumane.org. It looks like he is done. Oh, there he is. So stop on down. The Humane Society is open today from 1 to 5:30 tomorrow 11 to 3, and ask to meet Lionfish.”
