(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Jamestown police apprehended a local woman for stolen property just minutes after the alleged theft.

On May 22, 2024, at approximately 4:06 pm, Jamestown police officers located and arrested 47-year-old Lisa M. Tibbetts on the north side of the city. Tibbetts, a Jamestown resident, had outstanding warrants from the Jamestown Police Department.

During the arrest, officers conducted a search and allegedly found a debit/credit card in her possession that did not belong to her. Shortly after, officers responded to a report of a larceny involving a debit/credit card from an address nearby.

The investigation revealed that Tibbetts had allegedly stolen the debit card from the victim just moments before her arrest. As a result, she has been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree. Tibbetts is currently held pending arraignment at the Jamestown City Court.
