(WNY News Now) – ASHFORD, NY — On July 17, 2024, at approximately 6:04 PM, Thomas L. Mahiques, 32, was arrested for violating a full stay-away order of protection. The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported that Mahiques was taken into custody at the protected party’s address.
Deputies responded to the scene and apprehended Mahiques, who was then transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing. Following this, he was taken to the Town of Ellicottville Court for arraignment. Judge Hebdon presided over the arraignment, and Mahiques was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $1,000, $2,000, and $4,000 pending further court proceedings.
Mahiques has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
