(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that a Buffalo, NY, man pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to possession of child pornography following a prior conviction, which carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, a maximum of 20 years, and a $250,000 fine.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who is handling the case, stated that in October 2019, Cameron Stroke, 43, was convicted on a federal charge of possession of child pornography and  sentenced to five years’ probation. On May 23, 2023, U.S. Probation Officers conducted a home inspection at Stroke’s residence and found an unauthorized cell telephone in his possession. A forensic review recovered approximately 181 images and 12 videos of child pornography stored on the device. Some images depicted prepubescent minors.

The plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Human Trafficking Task Force, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia, and the Town of Tonawanda Police Department, under the direction of Chief James P. Stauffiger.

Sentencing is scheduled for October 29, 2024, before Judge Arcara.
