(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — John R. Bollinger, a 24-year-old Buffalo resident, has pleaded guilty to federal charges of possessing with intent to distribute and distributing over 50 grams of methamphetamine. The plea, entered before U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr., carries severe penalties, including a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 40 years in prison, alongside a potential $5 million fine.
The case against Bollinger unfolded after an investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the New York State Police. Law enforcement began scrutinizing Bollinger’s activities in April 2023, suspecting him of producing and selling counterfeit Adderall laced with methamphetamine. Between June 13 and July 16, 2023, undercover agents conducted four controlled buys of these counterfeit pills.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Pierre Richard Antoine, who is overseeing the prosecution, confirmed that Bollinger’s guilty plea concludes a significant investigation into drug trafficking in the Buffalo area. The investigation was conducted under the leadership of DEA Special Agent-in-Charge Frank Tarentino and New York State Police Major Stanley Edwards, III.
Bollinger is set to be sentenced on December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Sinatra.
