(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – A routine traffic stop by Jamestown Police K-9 Unit uncovers a significant methamphetamine possession, leading to the arrest of two Jamestown residents.

On September 6, 2024, at approximately 7:15 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s K-9 Unit stopped a vehicle near Prather Ave. and Forest Ave. for observed moving and equipment violations. During the stop, officers allegedly discovered suspected methamphetamine in the possession of both passengers: 49-year-old Kim Nutting and 42-year-old James E. Turner II, both residents of Jamestown.

Further investigation revealed Nutting was allegedly carrying a large quantity of packaging materials and a digital scale, items commonly associated with drug distribution. Once inside the Jamestown City Jail, authorities discovered that Nutting had concealed 55.5 grams of methamphetamine on her person.

Turner was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and released with an appearance ticket, along with traffic violations. However, Nutting, who has previous felony convictions for drug-related offenses, faces multiple charges including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th Degrees, two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

Nutting was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court, as authorities continue to investigate her involvement in possible drug distribution.
