(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – A Jamestown man faces serious felony charges after police discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine during a routine traffic stop.

On September 11, 2024, at approximately 6:56 PM, Jamestown Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop near Falconer Street and Liberty Street. Officers recognized the driver, 19-year-old Ruben L. Medina, who had an outstanding probation violation warrant.

Medina was promptly taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. During an inventory search at the jail, police allegedly found 115.2 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. As a result, Medina now faces an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class A-II felony, along with the initial warrant.

He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
