(WNY News Now) – Jamestown – Michael A. Shaw faces charges of criminal mischief and aggravated harassment after an alleged incident involving a punctured tire and threatening phone calls.
Michael A. Shaw, a 55-year-old resident of Jamestown, has been charged with criminal mischief in the fourth degree and aggravated harassment in the second degree following an incident on September 28. The Town of Ellicott Police Department responded to a complaint that initiated a chain of events leading to Shaw’s arrest.
According to police reports, the situation unfolded when Shaw was asked to leave a residence. Upon his departure, he allegedly punctured the victim’s vehicle tire using a sharp object. This act of vandalism led to the criminal mischief charge, as it resulted in damage to the victim’s property.
Furthermore, after leaving the residence, Shaw is accused of making numerous annoying and threatening phone calls to the same victim. Following the police response, Shaw was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott court at a later date to address the charges against him. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
