(WNY News Now) – A garage fire in the Town of Sheridan on December 2, 2024, was traced to a compromised propane heater exhaust pipe, according to fire investigators.
A garage fire in the Town of Sheridan on Meyers Rd was reported at approximately 9:59 PM on Monday, December 2, 2024. The Sheridan Fire Department, assisted by mutual aid, quickly extinguished the blaze. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Following the fire, Sheridan fire officials requested an origin and cause investigation. The investigation revealed that a damaged and unmaintained propane heater exhaust pipe was the source of the fire. The compromised pipe had overheated, igniting the surrounding structure.
