(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown uncovered a loaded handgun, leading to the arrests of two individuals on multiple charges.

JAMESTOWN, NY — On January 24, 2025, at approximately 12:33 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East 8th Street and Lakeview Avenue. The vehicle’s operator was identified as 33-year-old Dustin Newbree, with 40-year-old Monica Pacheco in the front passenger seat.

During the stop, it was determined that Newbree was operating the vehicle with a revoked license. Further investigation revealed that both Newbree and Pacheco were in unlawful possession of a loaded handgun inside the vehicle.

As a result, both individuals were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second and Third Degrees. Newbree faces an additional charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree.

The suspects were transported to the City Jail and are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
