(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested on multiple charges after attempting to flee from officers during a narcotics-related investigation late Saturday night.

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 10:18 p.m., Jamestown Police officers attempted to stop Zachary A. Graves, 29, who was riding a bicycle near East 6th Street and Grant Street. Graves attempted to evade officers but was apprehended about half a mile away.

Upon being detained, Graves provided officers with false identification but was quickly identified. A records check revealed an active warrant for his arrest from the Jamestown Police Department.

A search incident to arrest led officers to discover methamphetamine in Graves’ possession. During transport to the Jamestown City Jail, he attempted to conceal cocaine inside the police vehicle. Once at the jail, officers found him attempting to hide additional quantities of cocaine and fentanyl on his person.

Graves was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Two Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Impersonation in the 2nd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Resisting Arrest.

He is currently being held at the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
