(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Lakewood resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were conducting a GIVE Targeted Patrol when they observed a vehicle committing traffic infractions near E. 5th Street and Fulton Street at approximately 2:33 a.m. on February 22, 2025.

Officers initiated a traffic stop and, upon investigation, determined that the driver, identified as 41-year-old Yesania A. Butterfield, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

Butterfield was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated Per Se, and issued multiple traffic citations. She was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
