(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Cheektowaga man has been arrested and charged with attempted sex trafficking and drug possession, facing a possible life sentence.
Federal prosecutors announced that Darryl Lamont Paul, 59, also known as Darryl Lamont, was charged with attempted sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, as well as possession with intent to distribute cocaine. The charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison.
Allegations Against Lamont
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Caitlin M. Higgins, Lamont has owned NoLimit Entertainment (NLE) for 25 years, an entertainment company that provides dancers and bartenders for private parties. Investigators say he maintained business ties with Pharoah’s Gentleman’s Club, sharing employees and referring young women between the two businesses.
A 19-year-old victim told authorities that Lamont invited her to his home in July 2024 for an audition. During the audition, she was allegedly told to strip naked for an inspection. She later accompanied Lamont to a stag party, where she witnessed dancers engaging in sexual activity.
Authorities say Lamont also arranged for the victim to audition at a strip club and later brought her to his apartment for “training.” There, she was allegedly forced to snort cocaine and drink alcohol. The victim reported seeing a large quantity of cocaine in Lamont’s possession.
Coercion and Threats
According to the complaint, Lamont promised the victim she could earn substantial money and claimed to have connections with influential individuals. He also allegedly mentioned knowing her family members’ names, which the victim perceived as an intimidation tactic.
The victim also signed a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) prohibiting her from discussing what took place at Lamont’s home or events. When she later expressed discomfort and a desire to leave NLE, Lamont allegedly threatened her employment prospects at the strip club.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
Lamont appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and is being held in custody pending a detention hearing on March 18, 2025.
The case is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia.
Authorities emphasize that the charges are accusations, and Lamont is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
