(WNY News Now) – Illinois D. Jackson, 21, was taken into custody early Friday morning for violating a stay-away order of protection on Jamestown’s east side.

Jamestown Police officers from the third platoon arrested Illinois D. Jackson at approximately 1:04 a.m. on June 6, 2025, during a warrant check at an east side residence. According to the Jamestown Police Department, Jackson was found hiding behind a couch at the location.

Further investigation revealed that a tenant at the residence held an active stay-away order of protection against Jackson. Due to this violation and Jackson’s prior criminal history, he was charged with first-degree criminal contempt.

Jackson was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
