(WNY News Now) – On June 7, 2025, Jamestown Police arrested Amy L. Peterson, 39, for driving while intoxicated after she ran over a charged fire hose at Harrison Street and South Main Street.

Jamestown, NY — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department responded at 8:57 PM on June 7 to a vehicle complaint involving a sedan that ran over a charged fire hose on Harrison Street near South Main Street. Upon arrival, the operator was identified as 39-year-old Amy L. Peterson, a Jamestown resident.

An investigation revealed that Peterson disregarded emergency vehicles and drove over the charged fire hose placed across the roadway by fire personnel. Further examination determined that Peterson was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Peterson was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. She was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Driving While Intoxicated Per Se, and Crossing a Fire Hose. She was later released with Uniform Traffic Tickets and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a future date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
