(WNY News Now) – On June 23, 2025, Jamestown Police arrested Richard A. Poorman III for violating a court-issued stay-away order during a domestic dispute on the city’s south side.

Jamestown, NY — Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s second platoon responded to a domestic dispute call on the south side of Jamestown at approximately 3:14 p.m. on June 23, 2025. Upon arrival, police made contact with 40-year-old Richard A. Poorman III, a Jamestown resident.

Authorities confirmed that Poorman was subject to an active stay-away order of protection issued by the Jamestown City Court, requiring him to stay away from the residence involved in the incident. Despite the order, Poorman was found at the residence, leading to his arrest.

Poorman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He is currently held pending arraignment on charges of criminal contempt in the second degree. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
