(WNY News Now) – Ronnie Walker of Dunkirk will serve 11 years in state prison following a probation violation connected to multiple drug possession arrests.
DUNKIRK, N.Y. — Ronnie Walker, 45, of Dunkirk, was sentenced on June 30, 2025, by Chautauqua County Court Judge David W. Foley to 11 years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision for violating the terms of his probation.
The sentence stems from a series of drug-related arrests. In May 2023, Walker was taken into custody after a search warrant was executed by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Dunkirk Police Department. He was initially charged with five counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia.
Walker later pleaded guilty to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree. In June 2024, he was sentenced to five years of probation.
However, on February 26, 2025, Walker was arrested again—this time in the City of Jamestown—after a search warrant was executed by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and the Jamestown Police Department. He was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
These new charges constituted a violation of his probation, prompting the Chautauqua County Probation Department to file a formal violation. The charges from the February 2025 arrest were addressed through the sentence handed down for the probation violation.
District Attorney Schmidt thanked the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, and Jamestown Police Department for their work on both cases and the Chautauqua County Department of Probation for their diligent supervision of Probationers in the County.
