(WNY News Now) – A lost wallet complaint led to the arrest of two individuals at the Walmart in Allegany, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has charged two Olean residents following a larceny investigation stemming from a reported lost wallet at Walmart on Plaza Drive in Allegany.
According to Sheriff Eric A. Butler, deputies responded to the store on June 29, 2025, around 5:30 p.m. after receiving a complaint regarding a missing wallet. An investigation determined that Alyssia M. Scull, 31, and Gary R. Shreve, 34, had taken possession of the wallet and exited the store without attempting to return it.
Both individuals were arrested and charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor. They were released at the scene with appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Allegany Town Court at a later date for arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
