(WNY News Now) – Authorities are investigating an early morning vehicle fire in Cherry Creek that has been determined to be intentionally set.

CHERRY CREEK, NY – On Sunday, July 13, 2025, at approximately 6:09 a.m., the Cherry Creek Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Dredge Ditch Road in the Town of Cherry Creek.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered two unoccupied vehicles fully engulfed in flames. Due to the suspicious nature of the fire, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team was called to the scene to determine the origin and cause.

Following an on-site investigation, officials concluded that the fire was incendiary—intentionally set.

The incident remains under active investigation. No injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made at this time.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with support from the Jamestown Police Department, the Sheriff’s K9 Division, and the Cherry Creek Fire Department.
