(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after police say he was found trespassing inside a vacant home on the city’s eastside.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the second platoon responded to an eastside address on August 28, 2025, at about 4:15 p.m. for a reported trespass. Upon arrival, officers located a man inside the unoccupied residence.

Police identified the individual as William E. L. Blakey, 37, of Jamestown. Officers reported that Blakey was discovered hiding beneath a bed inside the property. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Blakey has been charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
