(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown man was taken into custody Tuesday morning after police responded to a reported domestic dispute at a southside residence in which he allegedly threatened to kill the victim with a knife.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 1st Platoon responded to the address on September 30, 2025, at approximately 10:29 a.m. An investigation determined that 37-year-old Tyler J. Stakelum allegedly threatened to kill the victim with a knife before striking the individual in the face, causing an abrasion.
Police said the investigation further revealed that Stakelum was subject to a valid stay-away order of protection requiring him to avoid contact with the victim.
Stakelum was arrested at the scene and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, and Harassment in the Second Degree.
Authorities confirmed that Stakelum is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
