(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A 45-year-old Jamestown man was taken into custody Saturday morning after officers identified him as a wanted fugitive from Pennsylvania.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the First Platoon were conducting a street check near West 6th and Cherry Streets at approximately 10:28 a.m. on October 11, 2025, when they encountered Daniel J. Harding, who was known to have an active warrant issued by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in Pennsylvania for retail theft.

Harding was arrested without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged as a fugitive from justice. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court and will face extradition proceedings to Pennsylvania. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
