(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown woman was taken into custody after allegedly violating an active order of protection on the city’s northside on Sunday afternoon, October 5.

According to Jamestown Police, officers from the First Platoon responded to a residence on the northside around 1:12 p.m. for a report of a possible order of protection violation. Following an investigation, officers determined that Kayla R. Booz, 33, an unhoused resident of Jamestown, had violated a valid stay-away order of protection.

Booz was arrested and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. She is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
