(WNY News Now) – An 18-year-old Falconer resident is facing a petit larceny charge after police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a local business in the Town of Ellicott.

FALCONER — The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged Jacob A. Freshwater, 18, of Falconer, with Petit Larceny following an incident on October 19, 2025.

According to police, officers responded to a report of shoplifting at a local business in Falconer. An investigation determined that Freshwater allegedly exited the store without paying for items.

Freshwater was subsequently charged and issued an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
