(WNY News Now) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from early Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening, with several counties expected to see 4 to 6 inches of snowfall.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 1 a.m. Tuesday until 7 p.m. Tuesday, warning residents across multiple Western and Central New York counties to prepare for challenging travel conditions.
According to the advisory, 4 to 6 inches of snow is expected across Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, and Southern Erie counties. Periods of steady snowfall are anticipated throughout the day, impacting both the morning and evening commutes.
Forecasters say motorists should expect snow-covered roads, reduced visibility, and slower travel speeds. Drivers are urged to allow extra time, reduce speed, and use caution, particularly on untreated roadways.
The hazardous conditions may cause delays and create difficult travel for commuters, especially in higher elevation areas where snow may accumulate more quickly.
The National Weather Service encourages residents to submit snow reports through their website or social media platforms to assist with ongoing monitoring.
