(WNY News Now) – Jamestown police say a 46-year-old man is facing harassment and drug possession charges following an early morning incident at a local warming shelter.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers assigned to the Second Platoon responded to 917 Washington Street, the ROME Warming Shelter, on March 3, 2026, at approximately 12:48 a.m. for a report of an unwanted person inside the building.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the individual, identified as 46-year-old Jamestown resident James G. Hall. During their investigation, police determined that Hall allegedly struck another person inside the shelter.
Hall was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. During a search conducted incident to arrest, officers reported locating a quantity of methamphetamine on his person.
Hall has been charged with Harassment in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
