(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, N.Y. — A 25-year-old Dunkirk man was arrested after police say he violated an order of protection by making threatening contact with a protected individual.
According to the Dunkirk Police Department, officers from the 3-11 patrol shift responded to a complaint on March 17, 2026, at approximately 4:06 p.m. regarding a reported violation of a stay-away order of protection.
Police allege that Hunter Evans contacted the victim—who is protected under the order—through threatening text messages and phone calls. Authorities say the contact violated the terms of the court-issued protection order.
Following the investigation, a warrant was issued for Evans’ arrest. He was later located and taken into custody on March 23, 2026.
Evans has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and Harassment in the Second Degree.
The case is being handled in Dunkirk City Court under the Honorable Judge Kuzdale. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
