(WNY News Now) – A 62-year-old Village of Sherman man has been charged with second-degree criminal trespass after a Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a reported past burglary at a condemned residence.

SHERMAN, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a past burglary in the Village of Sherman at approximately 8:22 a.m. on July 3, 2026.

According to deputies, the investigation determined that Kevin C. Cole, 62, of Sherman, was inside a condemned residence on June 27, 2026, without authorization.

As a result of the investigation, Cole was charged with Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. Authorities issued him an appearance ticket directing him to appear in the Town of Sherman Court at a later date.

The charge is an allegation, and Cole is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
