Gerry Man Allegedly Possesses Drugs During Traffic Stop

POLAND – A Town of Gerry man was arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on I-86 in Kennedy.

New York State Police said they stopped Joseph Washburn, 37, for speeding.

Troopers said they found Washburn to be in the alleged possession of suboxone strips and a fentanyl patch.


Washburn is charged with two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substances by ultimate users original container.

Troopers said Washburn was released with appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Poland Court on a later date.
