MAYVILLE – Jury selection for the murder trial of Jamestown man David F. Waggoner was under way at 9:30 Tuesday morning in Chautauqua County Court.

Waggoner is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old William J. Michishima.

Waggoner was indicted in Chautauqua County Court last August. He remains in Chautauqua County Jail on $1 million bail.

Jamestown Police said that Waggoner allegedly shot and killed Michishima with a single gunshot wound to the head at 114 Livingston Ave. in Jamestown last July.

Arguments and opening statements will begin once jury selection is completed.

Chautauqua County District Attorney Patrick Swanson will be prosecuting, while Public Defender Ned Barone will represent Waggoner.
