GoFundMe Plans To Shut Down Anti-vaccination Campaigns

GoFundMe is banning anti-vaccination campaigns.

The fundraising service announced last week they will shut down any campaign that promotes “misinformation” about vaccines.

It has a policy that prohibits users from making health claims that have not been approved or verified by regulatory agencies.

The move to specifically ban anti-vaccination campaigns comes after companies like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube have removed similar content.

Health officials have blamed high-profile outbreaks of measles earlier this year on unvaccinated people.

Diseases like Measles and Mumps are easily prevented with vaccines; but they have yet to be fully eradicated largely because some people elect not to receive those vaccines.
