Woman Charged In Jamestown Hit-And-Run

JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police investigators announced Wednesday that they’ve charged the driver in the Apr. 16 hit-and-run in front of UPMC Chautauqua that left a pedestrian with serious leg injuries. 

Tammy L. Sawyer, 52, reportedly turned herself into the Jamestown Police today and is charged with Felony leaving the scene of a personal injury accident; Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian; and speed not reasonable and prudent.

Sawyer is currently in the city jail and is awaiting arraignment.

Sawyer’s 2012 Toyota Rav 4 color silver was located and impounded yesterday afternoon parked in a lot on the south side of the city after a citizen tip reported its location to police.
